How Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service improved SMS notifications and sped up the delivery of critical information

Case study summary

In emergency services, every minute counts. Important information must reach the right people without delay, and the notification process needs to work reliably.

The Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Rzeszów (Komenda Miejska Państwowej Straży Pożarnej w Rzeszowie) faced exactly this challenge. The organization was looking for a solution that would enable faster delivery of messages to department managers and firefighters. Equally important were integration with existing IT systems and independence from external services.

The implementation of SMSEagle enabled the automation of SMS message delivery and reduced the time required to share information. As a result, the Headquarters gained a simple and reliable tool for quickly informing and alerting personnel about important incidents.

"The device operates stably and allows us to flexibly adjust the notification process to our needs. We can recommend SMSEagle products to organizations and institutions for which reliability, security, and the ability to integrate an SMS system with their own IT infrastructure are important. We also rate positively the technical solutions offered by SMSEagle and their applicability in environments that require high availability."

The challenge: reaching the right people at the right time

The Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Rzeszów wanted to improve the way information about critical incidents was delivered to management personnel and firefighters.

What mattered was not only the speed of message delivery, but also the ability to integrate with existing IT infrastructure and independence from external internet services.

The unit wanted to retain full control over the communication process, so that it could be continuously adapted to current needs. The target solution therefore had to be easy to use, reliable, and effective in supporting users’ daily work.

The solution: one system, many ways to communicate

To meet these requirements, the Headquarters implemented SMSEagle as an independent system supporting internal communications. A key advantage was the ability to deliver information to multiple recipients simultaneously from a single system, significantly accelerating the notification process and eliminating the need for many manual tasks.

Using SMS messages, the Headquarters shares information about accidents, fires, blocked roads, and fitness tests. This allows management personnel and firefighters to respond quickly to situations that require immediate action.

SMSEagle is also used to communicate other important events related to the day-to-day operation of the Headquarters. Messages can be sent not only to active firefighters, but also to former employees and retirees associated with the organization. This makes it possible to share information about gatherings, ceremonies, special events, and other important organizational matters.

Another benefit was the automation of the notification process. Preparing and sending messages now takes less time, while day-to-day operation of the system has become simpler and more efficient. The solution also uses its own SIM card, providing greater independence and control over the communication process.

Results: less manual work, more effective alerting

The most important result of the deployment was the launch of a reliable automatic SMS notification mechanism.

The process of relaying information became faster and better organized. The unit can now efficiently reach designated recipients with messages while spending less time on notification-related tasks.

In practice, the unit gained:

  • automated SMS notifications,
  • a faster alerting process,
  • fewer manual tasks,
  • greater independence from external internet-based services,
  • the ability to integrate with its existing IT infrastructure,
  • efficient communication for both operational incidents and organizational events.
