EN 18031 is a set of standards within a new European regulation, that define security and cybersecurity requirements for radio-equipment placed on the EU market. EN 18031 supports the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and ensures robust protection against network harm, personal data breaches, and fraud. SMSEagle devices are fully compliant with the requirements of the EN 18031 standard. Our products meet all applicable clauses of EN 18031-1 and EN 18031-2, confirming their readiness for the mandatory EU enforcement. This compliance reflects our ongoing commitment to secure, reliable, and standards-based communication solutions.
The EU Cyber Resilience Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/2847) sets mandatory cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements placed on the EU market, across their entire lifecycle. Since 11 September 2026, manufacturers must report actively exploited vulnerabilities and severe security incidents to ENISA and national CSIRTs. SMSEagle has these reporting procedures in place: our vulnerability handling process, run within our ISO 27001 certified ISMS. Our public Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure Policy tells security researchers exactly how to reach us and what to expect.
We are preparing our products and processes for full application of the CRA on 11 December 2027, including secure-by-design requirements, a software bill of materials (SBOM), a clearly stated security support period and the distribution of security updates. Our compliance with EN 18031 provides a solid foundation for this work.
