At SMSEagle, we continuously improve our hardware and software to meet the evolving needs of our customers. This roadmap highlights the upgrades currently in development, as well as upcoming features planned for the near and long-term future.
We’re implementing eSIM functionality to make connecting the gateway to a cellular network easier and fully remote. This removes the need to physically manage SIM cards, especially for large-scale or hard-to-reach deployments.
We will implement a built-in battery in the new hardware revision to ensure limited device operation during power outages. This backup system will allow the device to send a notification when external power is lost, acting as a mini UPS. The solution will be designed to support just enough runtime to transmit the alert reliably.
Modbus TCP/IP is a client-server protocol for data exchange between industrial devices over an Ethernet network. We’re developing a client that will continuously poll server IPs to read the status of specific registers, giving clients real-time data for monitoring and control.
We’re developing a software layer to enable our existing PHP application to control a Numato 32-Channel USB GPIO Module. This will allow for reliable pin control and monitoring, expanding the system’s input/output capabilities for future automation and hardware integrations.
The goal is to design and implement a modern, scalable, and accessible user interface for the gateway system. The project aims to improve the user experience while ensuring seamless integration with the existing system and its modules.
Our next hardware revision is currently in development and will include support for 5G and dual modem capabilities.
