When a user signs in with SMS PASSCODE, the one-time code is sent by SMS through SMSEagle, your own hardware SMS gateway. Since version 9.0, SMS PASSCODE supports SMSEagle out of the box.
SMSEagle is a built-in dispatch connector in SMS PASSCODE/CensorNet MFA – select it directly and codes are sent from your own device over the cellular network, with no cloud SMS provider in between.
Cloud dispatch connectors need outbound internet access from your MFA server. SMSEagle sends messages on-premises over its own cellular connection, delivering OTP codes even in fully offline installations.
Cloud SMS dispatch is billed per message, often at premium authentication rates. SMSEagle sends over a standard SIM at local carrier rates – no per-message fees, no external contract.
A user signs in to an application protected by SMS PASSCODE/CensorNet MFA and passes the first factor.
SMS PASSCODE generates a one-time passcode and dispatches it through the SMSEagle connector, configured with your device’s connection details.
SMSEagle delivers the code over its own cellular connection, not through a third-party service, as an SMS to the user’s own phone.
In SMS PASSCODE choose SMSEagle as the dispatch connector and enter the account details, and codes are sent by SMS.
An SMS code needs no app: people receive it on any mobile phone.
SMSEagle records every code it sends, together with its status, so you can check whether it was received.
Two SMSEagle devices can work as an HA cluster: if one fails, the other takes over sending codes.
Since version 9.0 and higher of SMS Passcode/CensorNet MFA, SMS integration with SMSEagle is available out-of-the-box. Follow the steps described in SMS Passcode/CensorNet MFA configuration dashboard to complete the integration.

Please navigate to the SMS PASSCODE Web Administration Interface, Transmission, Dispatch connectors.
Choose SMSEagle, and fill in the account data, and you will be up and running (remember to assign the SMSEagle to a dispatch policy).
